que chido el fin de semana 3 de ccm

Hola familia y amigos,

today es el 10 de febrero, which marks me arriving at the in person CCM about a week ago. It is like nothing I have ever experienced before, so many great people with such good mindsets.  A lot has happened this past week so here's some highlights off the top of my head.
-  I arrived here two days later than I was supposed to due to a bunch of flight cancellations and delays.  My day of travel to MXC airport started around 5am in Ontario and ended around 1am to the CCM.  It was full of cancellations, delays, and rerouting.  Luckily I had a travel companion that was with me the whole time.  There were so many people at the airports offering to buy us food or wishing us safe travels and my faith in humanity was restored 😋

The first night here I slept sooo good I think they infused melatonin into the blankets or something.

- I live in a house with around 20 other missionaries 75% being native Spanish speakers.  I have two favorites, Elder Vejar & Elder Ramos because they love to try to speak English and its so wholesome. "I lob yu mi frens".  There's another Elder who wears these glasses with super thick lenses & one night when he put then on Elder Ramos yelled "Geenuos!".  They are sooo funny but have such good spirited personalities at the same time.  Every night for our house devotional an English speaker says the opening prayer in Spanish and a Spanish speaker says the prayer in English.  After each prayer everyone cheers and claps and it's just overall muy bien.

- Yesterday I went to the immigration offices which are about an hour away from the CCM to get my residency card, and was in line with a missionary from Peru & a missionary from Guatemala.  We waited for hours in a bunch of different lines, inside then outside, then back inside, etc.  Eventually I got my card and the picture is sooo bad 😹 see attached:

I swapped currency with the two other Elders and had conversations in Spanish to the best of my ability.  super cool fellas 👍

-  I have been eating so many takis while here, there's a mini store on the compound and everything is so cheap I just can't resist buying something everyday.  Esp. because the food here can be iffy sometimes.  LITTLE CAESARS ON TUESDAYS THOUGH!!!! which makes up for it all in the end. It's such a good reminder of the high desert.

- The fireworks (or gunshots?) that go off all day long.  One of my teachers says that in Mexico everything is celebrated, even mondays. Its so strange because the city is LIVELY 24/7 but the walls of the CCM have made me forget where I am lol.  The couple times Ive been able to go out have been for my residency card and the temple.  It makes me want to break out of here so bad and go buy some tacos or a torta haahha.  The houses surrounding the compound are so beautiful, just a huge array of different colors.

- The weather here is so perfect, its very warm and my whole district of gringos is getting more and more tan by the day.  shoutout to district 11b once again.

I am blessed to be in a trio companionship with Elder Bott & Elder Finlinson such good guys 💪.

I am sure there would be more i could add if i sat here for my whole pday, but I'm not gonna do that 😝.

If you made it this far thank you for reading and you're missed.  send me an email and Ill answer when I can.  I have a pretty tightly packed schedule but always look forward to hearing from you guys.  adios! here’s some more pics:
