hola todos
I didn't get the chance to write last week but here I am today to document some events from the past couple weeks.
We had a meeting with all of my generation because we had finished our first half of our training. It was so good to see some familiar faces and get to catch up with some of my buddies from the MTC.
Transfers were last Tuesday, and area "Mitla" got closed. They were our neighboring area and since there are no longer sisters that occupy it, it has become apart of our area. In other words our work has doubled but it's honestly a blessing because the time has just gotten even faster with how many appointments we are able to set. The downside is were traveling even more than we were before, but it's okay because the naps on the bus are

. There was a TON of rain and hail this week to the point where the streets were rivers yo. It was not something I expected to happen, especially when we start off a day and it's 85 degrees out then all of a sudden buckets of water are being poured from the heavens. This quick change catches me off guard everytime and I never leave the house prepared. This week I have acquired a Chili Gauqili jacket, a yellow rain jacket and an umbrella all from different members that didn't want me to get wet after leaving their house hahaha.
Also this week we had exchanges and I got to lead the area with one of the new Elders in our district, Elder Weight. It was a super fun day filled with just random strange occurances. One door we knocked was in an apartment building and the door behind us opened up. It was this little kid probably 8 years old maximum. He started to list off the names of all the people that lived in his building, who they were, whether they would open the door for us, and finished by saying the only one that was home was the lady on the top floor in the apartment on the left. The way bro was talking made it sound like he was the apartment manager and it caught me so off guard lol. Elder Weight was also once in a MTC district with Elder Anderson who was in my MTC online district so we have a friend in common

.Another funny story from this week was from a day we had in Ciudad Yagul. My companion had to go to the bathroom really bad and we spent 15 minutes searching for a nearby member because he didn't want to go in a bush. We couldn't find anyone, until this guy came walking down the street with a posture similar to Walter Jr. from breaking bad. He yelled something that would translate to like "FRIENDS PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY BAGS FRIENDS PLEASE!" he was carrying a big bag of groceries. So I took his bags and we walked to his house on the corner. He told us to come inside, we entered and there were cats everywhere. On the stove, on the fridge, tons of cats in this tiny house. My comp asked to use the bathroom and he replied with "Como que No!" or "how could I say no!" He told me to have a seat and poured me a big ol glass of coke and just started rambling. He was talking about WW2 and Hiroshima. Asking about Barack Obama, just a bunch of nonsense to be honest. Then he says something like "well if you get to have your drink I'm gonna have mine" and pulls out a HUGE beer and cracks it open with a spoon. Oh and all this is happening with Frank Sinatra playing statically from a radio in the corner. Bro was definitely an NPC. I will never forget Hermano Jesus and his strange kindness from that day hahaha.
We also made a new friend named Jorge who just sent us a message one day saying that he wanted to visit our church and that he loved how beautiful it was. We gave him a tour and he was very intrigued by the paintings and the baptismal font and kept asking when all the people were going to show up. We kept telling him that most days of the week the church is closed but it's always open on Sunday and full of people. He would ask a question pertaining to the gospel, then ask again when the next activity was or when all the people were gonna show up. Over and over again. It is so cool finding people who want to come to church without having to be invited. I'm super excited to see him continue to find that excitement in the gospel. If you made it this far I salute you soldier. I hope you're doing well!! Here's a scripture as a gift - "Be faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God and I will encircle thee in the arms of my love. - D&C 6:20
